Roadtrip Part 2: Delaware

After a week in Minnesota with my sister and her family, we headed to Delaware. That meant another 20 hour drive. Driving was exhausting, but it was so nice to stay in Delaware for longer than the usual 10 days, and it was even nicer that we were there in the summer! It was the first time in a long time that I  had been there in the summer, and the first time ever for Danny (I loved his reaction when he first saw the fireflies!). Since it was summer instead of the usual ice cold Christmas time, we were able to fill our trip up with plenty to do. Here were the highlights of our trip.

Boston. We drove up to Boston with my parents and my little brother, Dalton, so that he could look at some colleges in the area. It was the first time I had been up in Boston for a lonnnng time, so it was fun to see the area. We did tours of Harvard, MIT, and BU and went to see the Bunker Monument. It was a quick trip, but worth the drive!

The beach. Near the end of our trip, both my sisters came out to Delaware with their families (minus Doug). For one whole day, we were all there at the same time, so we went to the beach. We went to the beach a few times while we were there which was impressive since it's a two hour drive.

The 4th. I had my first Hockessin 4th of July since graduating high school while we were there. Danny went shooting with some of the guys in the morning, then we went to the pool, did the famous Hockessin parade in the afternoon, then BBQed over at a famiily friend's house and walked over to watch the fireworks. What more can you ask for for the 4th?

Besides a deer hitting our car, everything went smoothly while we were there! Danny went golfing with my best friend's dad and my brother, I got to see so many good friends, we went biking with my family (ha! that's a first.), made it to a Philly's game, played with our nieces, and even went and checked out Old New Castle.

We ended up staying in Delaware for almost 2 1/2 weeks, and we still weren't ready to leave. We left on July 11th, took a slight detour back to MN for a couple of interviews, then finally made it back to UT July 14th. Oy!
